Kahuna Secrets of Theta Brain Wave Training

If you’ve been practicing, you’re probably already getting there.

Here it is.

Remember alpha waves give us our clearest, sharpest, and strongest visualizations … and you probably have a good grasp of that.

You already have the basic process, so let’s get you moving toward the “Kahuna Mind.”

Use your alpha picturing for awakening your theta mastery.

OK?

Generally speaking … theta brainwaves are best accessed through “journeying.”

Some examples:

… going down stairs.

…going through a tunnel.

… along a passageway.

And the more changes you make … the deeper you tend to go.

OK?

But …

… you have to “go somewhere” … right?

That’s why we’re always emphasizing you must know your purpose for going to theta … your expectation!

  • Astral Projection.

  • Lucid Dreaming.

  • Remote Viewing.

  • Healing.
  • … whatever!

    You see … once you get to the end of your “journey” ... the intention you’ve set-up ahead of time gives your theta waves something to focus on!

    … otherwise you’re just "zoning out. "

    So there IS a purpose for knowing your purpose!

    Huna: The Nature of Predicting the Future!

    I like using the "clock tower" metaphor.

    Let me give a specific example ...

    I was leaving home one evening when I saw a “flash” of a white Camaro broad-siding me at a certain intersection.

    As I approached that intersection I began driving slowly and more cautiously. Sure enough, as I got closer a kid in a white Camaro came racing up to the stop sing from the side street and skidded out into the middle of the main street in front of me.

    "So what actually happened?"

    The clock tower.

    Imagine the same scene with two cars speeding toward an intersection … neither driver can see that another car is approaching.

    But there’s a person standing atop a clock tower on the corner who can see both cars …

    ... he literally has a “Higher Perspective!”

    He is able to PREDICT THE FUTURE … so far as he can see that *IF* the two cars continue
    at their current pace, they will collide.

    If he’s able to call one of the cars and give warning of the POTENTIAL tragedy, he BOTH predicted the future AND changed it.

    Such is the nature of precognition.

    The same thing happened to me and … I suspect … to you.

    “Someone” … and I’m not going to name names, right? : ) … but, in Huna that "someone" is your Aumakua High Self.

    ... so "someone" with a Higher Perspective was able to predict what would happen if things continued as they were and give warning to avoid an undesired event.

    Does that make sense?

    ... isn't it GREAT!

    This is how I learned to see auras for the first time ... it's probably the FASTEST "ESP" training there is.

    A couple of years ago I was doing a Huna intensive and we literally had one student who as close to being someone "just pulled-off-the-street" as you can get ...

    ... at the time she was the new "customer service" lady for Huna Research, Inc. ... with absolutely NO experience ... and almost no interest in "this Huna stuff" or anything like it.

    She was just there to "help out."

    So ...

    I was teaching the "Learning How to See Auras in Less than 5 minutes" part of my training ... a simple 4-step process, and ... "of course" ... Hakalau is the First Step.

    I don't think she even wanted to do it ...

    ... she made all kinds of excuses as to why it wouldn't work for her, etc. etc. ...

    ... BUT ...


    ... she actually SAW the AURA ... and she saw it RIGHT AWAY ...

    It really is that powerful!

    She was in such "denial" she said, "I don't see anything ... all I see is all these colors flying around her head!"

    Learning is such FUN ... is it not?

    MY REPLY:

    It's usually easier to see auras when people are agitated ... for a couple of reasons.

    1. More EMOTION = more MANA.

    2. RED is just MORE NOTICEABLE ...

    ... like the red Ferrari ...

    ... like the red dress ...

    etc.

    So NOW ... moving on!



    STAGE TWO


    The more you practice Hakalau ... the more you do it ... you start finding yourself more and more adept ... and you can "slip" into this state pretty much instantly!

    "Stage One" is your ability to "get there" easily ... and you can stay in that state.

    When I'm teaching or doing healing work I hold it all day long.

    Just make sure you're holding it for a few moments before moving to Stage Two ... because that's very important!

    "Stage Two" is simply ... while you're holding the Hakalau state ... allow your eyes to drop down to their "normal" position.

    Just let the eyes naturally "drop" … staying "defocused" ... and make sure you're holding that EXPANDED AWARENESS.

    THEN ... once your good at doing that naturally ... you can go on to "STAGE THREE" ...

    Kahuna Secrets of Psychic Awareness

    This one's from the order of Kane ...

    And even though most old Hawaiian systems didn't include Chakras, you'll probably notice some parallels here.

    I was reminded of this when the subject of Piko Piko arose in the Huna Ohana group. This is a Piko Piko ... moving your awareness between different points of the body.

    This one is for DEVELOPING YOUR PSYCHIC SKILLS.

    The important thing is the RATIO ... 9/15/12 ... keep your breathing natural ... in fact ... DON'T THINK ABOUT BREATHING ...

    ... just focus your attention on "THE LIGHT."


    PART ONE

    Start with FOUR "Sun breaths."

    As you inhale, imagine the sun just above and behind your head ... about three feet up ... and imagine it connected (by aka cords) to the top of your head ("soft spot," fontanel, Manawa) and to your back behind your heart.

    As you exhale, imagine the light flowing into you.

    So ...

    Step One. Imagine the sun being there as you inhale.

    Step Two. Imagine the light flowing into you as you exhale.

    Do Step One and Two four times.

    Then the Piko Piko.

    HEART

    Focus your attention on your heart. Imagine a PINK light shining from your heart. Focus on this for a count of NINE.

    Then move your attention to the top of your head (soft spot), bringing the pink light with you. Focus on this for a count of FIFTEEN.

    Then allow that light to GROW until it surrounds your entire body. Focus on this for a count of TWELVE.

    THROAT

    Focus your attention on your throat. Imagine a BLUE light shining from your throat. Focus on this for a count of NINE.

    Then move your attention to the top of your head, bringing the blue light with you. Focus on this for a count of FIFTEEN.

    Then allow that light to GROW until it surrounds your entire body. Focus on this for a count of TWELVE.

    FOREHEAD

    Focus your attention on your forehead, just above your eyebrows (3rd eye). Imagine a WHITE light shining from your forehead. Focus on this for a count of NINE.

    Then move your attention to the top of your head (soft spot) bringing the white light with you. Focus on this for a count of FIFTEEN.

    Then allow that light to GROW until it surrounds your entire body. Focus on this for a count of TWELVE.

    That's the drill.


    I thought it was crap at first.

    THEN I had a DREAM about it ...

    ... and I thought, "That's crap."

    ... or I may have used another term, right?

    THEN a book "JUMPED OUT" at me on Psychic Energy by Joseph Weed ...

    ... and I opened it up RIGHT TO THE PAGE that had THE EXACT SAME DRILL ...

    ... so I thought, "Hmmmmmmmmmm...."

    ... and forgot about it.


    THEN ...

    ... while I was preparing for an ESP class, I took a nap and I had the feeling of "GET UP and DO THAT #^^*& DRILL"

    So I tried it, and ... over the next twenty-four hours ... my ENERGY AWARENESS was back as good as it was when I was four or five years old.

    I ended up giving a SPECIAL TRAINING on THAT drill alone.

    Pretty amazing!

    The key "secret" that popular movie is missing!

    ... even saboatage your goals!

    Here's how ...

    One of the most misunderstood things in Huna seems to be the "TIME ELEMENT" ...

    Now.

    Your unihipili knows the future is NOT the present.

    Pretty simple.

    So ... when you're doing your Ha Rite you are building your chosen reality INTO THE FUTURE ... so it IS a reality ... in the future only!

    OK?

    Your unconscious CAN distinguish between "real things" and when you are imagining things ...

    ... and it pays more attention to what it knows is "real."

    Example:

    Simply imagining and affirming "I am healthy, wealthy, and wise. I radiate health because I have health ..." may CAUSE your unihipili to disregard that as just more of the "imaginings" of the uhane middle self.

    ... it could actually sabotage your desires!

    Got it?

    "Pretending" everything is the way you want it ALONE can actually set-you-up for "failure" ...

    ... because your unconscious KNOWS what is "real" ... what it is experiencing NOW.

    So ...

    Huna does not use the practice of saying "I am healed here and now" ... because that can set up conflict between your selves.

    ... "or worse."

    But ... having done your Ha Rite ... you know that you are being healed in that part of the future that is being molded NOW.

    That's your High Self's job!

    Then ...

    ... having performed your Ha Rite ... placing your chosen outcome in your future ... it is THERE.

    That actually sets-up the "Law of Attraction" in the way that will attract you to your chosen future!

    ... and start attracting your chosen future to you!

    Huna 101: Parallels

    Aloha!

    This chart was developed by Huna Ohana member Joseph Gurney.



    Hi all,

    My background is Qabalah of the Golden Dawn variety. After recently getting into Huna, I have formed a tentative theory that there are parallels between Huna and the Qabalah (and also yoga and alchemy). Specifically, the Huna selves approximate to the Qabalistic parts of the soul. This is not unreasonable when you consider that Huna was said to originate in Egypt or Africa, and that the tribes left their wisdom in various places en route as they migrated there from.

    I am pretty certain that the Unihipili, Uhane and Aumakua are the direct equivalents of the Nephesh, Ruach and Neshamah respectively. However after that it gets hazy, and it may well be that at the upper end of the scale, so to speak, there are no exact matches.

    Are these correspondences valid? And if so, does this mean that knowing more about the one (e.g. Huna itself), can teach us more about the others?

    Welcome,

    Are you interested in healing yourself or helping to heal others? If you are then you may be interested in joining the Huna Telepathic Mutual Healing Group. Telepathic healing means receiving healing for yourself or participating in healing others at a distance.

    The Huna Ohana sponsors an ongoing Telepathic Mutual Healing Group. The Telepathic Mutual Healing Group was started in 1948 by Max Freedom Long and is still active today.

    Information on how you can participate in the Huna Telepathic Mutual Healing Group can be found at the end of this article.

    Introduction

    The Telepathic Mutual Healing Group began its work in 1948 under the direction of Max Freedom Long. It consists of a small group of Huna Research members who are dedicated to the healing of those who request help healing of the body, personal problems, and social or financial tangles. The TMHG meets on a regular basis to send healing to those who request it for themselves or for others. Some are physically present at the Huna Headquarters Building in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Others join us in their healing meditation, wherever they may be physically. We have members from all parts of the world joining us to direct their Mana for the use of those who have need of healing.

    Anyone may request help through the Telepathic Mutual Healing Group (TMHG).

    All healing in essence is self-healing and is accomplished through your own three selves. The TMHG helps in two basic ways:

    1. By reinforcing the visualized picture which you describe as the desired result, and

    2. By sending an extra supply of healing mana (vital force), which will give your own life energy a boost and enable it to fulfill your request in the way you desired. We ask that you cooperate in the healing effort by following the simple suggestions outlined here. If you are joining the TMHG as a contributor to the healing Mana that is gathered and sent, we welcome you.

    How to Participate

    Step One:

    Decide that you really want the illness healed or the physical, mental, or emotional problem solved, or the personal problem worked out. You must not only desire healing on a conscious level, but also on a subconscious level. All three selves must be involved to bring about healing: the conscious middle self, the subconscious basic self, and the higher consciousness of the High Self. Examine your feelings and determine what emotional reaction you have when you see yourself completely well and back to your desired way of living.

    Step Two:

    Decide exactly what you want the outcome to be. This requires careful thought (meditation, contemplation). Some requests cannot be made in exact terms. In that case, decide on what you will be doing when the desired result has been realized. If you always put yourself in the picture of your future, seeing yourself in action, the decision will be clear. When you know what the desired result will be, you are ready for it to be accomplished.

    Step Three:

    Visualize the desired result and describe it as briefly, but completely as possible. This naturally follows Step Two, but it is important to make a mental picture of your request, so that you can see it in your mind during a quiet period of meditation. And it is important to work out an exact verbal description in order to convey the picture to the TMHG workers.

    The word-picture will also act as a strong physical stimulus to your subconscious mind. Check the words you have chosen for any emotional reaction associated with them.

    Step Four:

    Chose a time of day when you can stop for a few moments, without distraction and remain in a receptive attitude. This is the time when the healing energy can be sent by the TMHG and received by you. It is important that you do this on a regular basis, every day. If you wish to do this more than once each day, so much the better. The TMHG sends energy to those on the healing list at various times during the day and night. If we know you are in an especially receptive attitude, the healing energy can be concentrated. Send us the times you have chosen, so that we can work with you.

    Step Five:

    You may take part in one of two ways. Simply maintain a receptive attitude for a few minutes at the chosen time, or at any other time during the day when you feel it is needed. Thus the healing work of the TMHG can be more effective as the energy flows freely and without resistance.

    The second way you can participate is through active participation. This can help you even more.
    1. Take several deep breaths.

    2. Picture yourself receiving healing energy from the TMHG and charging your body.

    3. Visualize the picture you have worked out and repeat the verbal description.

    4. Instruct your basic self to carry the request to the High Self.

    5. Release the request and put it out of your mind.
    Step Six:

    Add a request for help for someone else. This is done very simply in your thoughts. There are two basic Huna tenets involved in living the Huna life and receiving healing:

    1. Do no harm to anyone.

    2. When you perform a service to someone else, your inner consciousness (basic self) is convinced that you deserve the healing that you are requesting. This is summarized in the Huna motto: The Hurtless and Helpful Life.

    Step Seven:

    A simple, but definite ending to your quiet period of meditation should be made. One of the best endings is a statement of thanksgiving for the healing you have received. The ending releases the request to the High Self and allows it to be acted on. There are actions to be taken by all three selves, so be sure to allow each of your selves to do the part appropriate to that level of consciousness.

    The Prayer-Picture is like a seed that is planted; you do not dig it up every day to see if it is growing.

    Step Eight:

    It is of the utmost importance that you convince your basic self or subconscious (unihipili) that you are worthy of healing and that you will be healed.

    A physical stimulus is most effective in impressing the inner consciousness of the importance of the request.

    A pledge or vow to some worthy cause; helping someone; giving up something for a period of time, an offering to a worthy cause or doing whatever you can do to make the desired outcome certain.

    Summary

    1. After deciding on your request in exact words and the mental picture, send your request to Huna Headquarters. If you have already written a general request, it may be necessary to revise it according to the suggestions given here and send it again.

    2. State also the time of day you have chosen to participate. We will make sure there are TMHG members participating at that time. Our regular TMHG time is on Tuesday evenings at 9:00 P.M. Central Time (we have a full hour of meditation and energizing starting at 8:00 P.M.) TMHG members also work independently and in groups every day.

    3. Keep in touch by reporting briefly at regular intervals. A short handwritten note will be sufficient. We can only keep you on the healing list if you report regularly.

    We recommend using the Huna Prayer (see below) process written by Max Freedom Long as a Kala (cleansing) meditation once or more every day. Use it especially when joining the TMHG.

    Huna 101: Kahuna Physics

    The Huna "Mechanics of
    Telepathy and Telepathic Prayer"
    from The Secret Science Behind Miracles by Max Freedom Long



    A. The physical body.

    B. The shadowy body pictured as slightly out of the physical body (as in astral travel etc.) but connected with the physical body by a large cord of shadowy body material.

    C. A cluster of grapes representing in Huna symbology the clusters of thought forms embodying all memories. These are stored by the low self in its shadowy body (not in the physical brain) and are carried away in the shadowy body when the physical body dies.

    D. This single wavy line represents the low voltage of vital force used by the low self (and made by it in the body). The shadowy body is an ideal storage battery to hold such vital force, and the threads of shadowy mate­rial extending in all directions (uniting the individual with all things and persons once touched) are ideal conductors for the low voltage vital force.

    E. The thicker shadowy body material cord connecting the shadowy body with the physical body when the low self (usually accompanied by the middle self in its shadowy body) leaves the physical body during sleep, trance and astral travel. The zig-zag line pictures the flow of vital force along the cord.

    F. The dotted circle indicates the shadowy body of the middle self. It does not have the shape of the physical body and is thinner than the shadowy body of the low self.

    G. A distant person with whom telepathic or mind reading experiments are being carried out, or to whom the healing thought forms and vital force are being transferred in absent healing.

    H. The thread or cord of shadowy body substance which connects the man with a distant person (as explained in G). Along the connecting thread flows low voltage vital force and thought forms, both moving to and from the experimenters. The small circles represent the thoughts as thought forms, but these would naturally be clusters to form complete ideas or impressions gained by an extension of sensory faculties along the thread to see, hear, smell, taste etc. and bring back reports. The kahunas symbolized this extension of sensory organs along shadowy threads as "reaching out a finger" or "an ear" etc. The sensory organs are duplicated in the shadowy body, so that the low self, when out of the physical, as in astral travel or after death can still see, hear, taste, etc.

    I. Low voltage vital force bringing into action the shadowy cord connecting the low self with the High Self. This low voltage of force goes along the thread carrying the thought forms of a prayer to the High Self. It also furnishes the High Self with the force to be used in making instant or miraculous answers to prayers for healing.

    J. The three wavy lines symbolize the flow of high voltage vital force from the High Self to the low. This is the atom smashing voltage which can make instant changes in bodily tissues to cause instant healing, or can produce the "physical phenomena" of Psychical Research.

    K. The symbol of the High Self. It is connected with the low self by a thread of shadowy body substance.

    L. Along the shadowy connecting thread move thought forms and sensory impressions, the latter gained either by a projection of shadowy sensory organs, such as the eyes, or by impressions already recorded as thought forms. All visions of the future are from the High Self and reach the low self as sensory impressions or thought forms sent along the thread from the High Self to the low self. Or, the low self may extend a portion of a shadowy body eye to the region of the High Self and "see" the thought forms of the not-yet-materialized future which have already been constructed by the High Self.

    M. The doubled wavy line represents the middle voltage of vital force used as "will" and in its thinking, by the middle self.

    Huna 101: Communicating with your High-Self ... Part II

    The Process

    The process I've repeated throughout this little piece (see Part I) can be outlined thus ...

    Step One: Decide what your current situation is.

    Whether it's relationships, finances, health, or whatever ... get an idea of "how things are now."

    Step Two: Decide what exactly what improvements you really want to make.

    Don't worry about HOW to do it ...

    ... INSTEAD ... just focus on what you want to be doing ... what you want to happen ... how you want things to be.

    Step Three: Relax into "the silence," alpha, the meditative state, deep relaxation, self-hypnosis, whatever you want to call it ...

    Relax ... and, while you're relaxed ... review the current situation.

    Then imagine how you want it to be.

    Because you're more in touch with your "inner self" at this level, you may find yourself adding nice little details at this point ... and that's OK.

    Step Four: Turn the project over to the High Self.

    ... That's it!

    ... you've "turned the project over" ... so your job now is to look for signs, omens, feelings, visions ... whatever, however your High Self communicates to you.

    In the lottery case from Part I, there are at least Two Master Keys worth pointing out.

    First ...

    As mentioned ... his focus was not on "how" to achieve the goal ... he focused on his desired outcome.

    Second ...

    His request was for "improving conditions here on earth" and would benefit others!

    It's not necessary to be completely "self-less" in your request because improving conditions on Earth ... helping "humanity" ... includes making things better for you!

    You're part of humanity, right?

    Including your own self-interest is often necessary to build the genuine desire to push a project through ...

    ... and that's OK.

    When your outcome helps at least two other people ... and is "for the benefit of all concerned" ... your success rate is sky-rocketed!

    Communications


    You may have already noticed the "Four-Step Process for Fine-Tuning Your High-Self Communication" does not involve a formal Ha Rite.

    Once reason is because this is about developing your relationship with your selves ... both the unihipili "inner self" and the Aumakua "High Self."

    By living the spiritual life according to the "Huna Way" ... by developing rapport and maintaining that communication things tend to "just work themselves out."

    All the elements are still there!

    Your desire energizes the thought-form ... the image of your outcome. You're sending your "prayer-picture" to the High Self. You're working with your inner self.

    It's all there ... in a very "natural way" ... a way that you can use regularly ... every day ... to develop your Huna work.

    Sometimes the feedback you receive from the High Self ... because you always get SOME KIND OF FEEDBACK within 72 hours of presenting your "project" ... tells you the goal you presented is not for your highest good at this time.

    You may get a feeling you need to be focusing your attention elsewhere ...

    ... AND THAT'S GOOD ... because "balanced communication" is a two-way communication, and that feedback means you're that much closer to living your purpose in life.

    And "living your purpose in life" is the meaning of living the "Huna Life."

    Huna "Action List"

    Remember ...

    ... those who succeed are those who are progressively realizing a worthy ideal ... the persons who say, "I'm going to become this!"... and then begin working toward becoming it.

    Have you ever wondered why so many men and women work so hard and honestly ... without ever achieving anything in particular?

    Why others do not seem to work hard at all and yet get "everything? "

  • We sometimes think it's "the magic touch" or just "pure luck."

  • We often say, "Everything they touch turns to gold."

  • Have you ever noticed that a person who becomes successful tends to continue this pattern of success? Or on the other hand, how a person who fails seems to continually fail?

    Well, the answer is simple ...

    ... those who succeed have established personal goals.

    Success is NOT the result of making money ... making money is the result of success and success is in direct proportion to our SERVICE.

    ACTION LIST:
    1. Establish a definite goal.

    2. STOP RUNNING YOURSELF DOWN! Do not think of all the reasons why you cannot be successful ... INSTEAD think of all the reasons why you CAN achieve success.

    3. Renew your self-image by writing a description of the person YOU WANT TO BECOME.

    Huna – Truth or Fiction?

    Aloha all!

    Linda Barrett sent a humorous post to the Huna Ohana group exposing some of the manipulating language patters that "some people" with certain political agendas are using to keep you from learning how you can develop your "magical abilities" yourself.

    A whole new "industry" has developed recently around trying to keep Max Freedom Long's true findings and what Huna really is.

    It is true that most of the people who either promote or "oppose" Huna really haven't gone through the entire story.

    From another one of Linda's posts to me ...


    The leading question was "Did Long find the secret science behind the miracles of the kahuna?"

    You can answer either way depending on your political agenda, but the important question is if that was what Max was looking for.

    That's missing the point because that's not quite what he was looking for.

    Maybe the important thing is you can do and you can teach people how to do all the magic the Kahuna used to be able to that Max Freedom Long was investigating.

    ... commonly credited to Goethe, it comes from the journal of William H. Murray, reflecting upon the organization and will-power necessary to begin the Scottish Himalayan Expedition.

    "Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred.     It's a "complex" problem!

    So ...

    Why would anyone go to the trouble of putting an "evil spell" on anyone?

    Really?

    I mean ... most people "take care of themselves" anyway!

    ... and a "curse" requires certain conditions to "work."



    The "complex."


    ... it's that "something eating inside" ... usually caused by thoughts of guilt.

    The "complex" makes the unihipili either willing to accept "punishment" ... or unable to repel "attacks" ... or both.

    It also makes the unihipili accept the idea that punishment is "deserved" ... sometimes even with amends having been made ... and forces it to continue or manifest the "punishment" in the form of sickness or mental illness.

    And more ...

    ... the complex does what the Kahuna called "blocking the path" ... making your unihipili "unwilling" to contact the Aumakua.

    All so "unnecessary."

    Because "the key" is finding and "draining off" the complex.

    "It's that easy!"


    Kala or "clearing!"




    Here's a simple yet surprisingly effective method that works ... but you do have to pay ...

    ... attention!

    This is very important ... because we're working with a "model" here ... and the "accuracy" of your model is measured by its effectiveness!

    It's like this ... the unihipili is the "source" and "storehouse" of emotions.

    Uhane experiences emotions in the present ... (otherwise you would not be *aware* of them ... hint hint.)

    If you "understand this distinction" ... then you have one of the First "Master Keys" to Living Excellence ...

    ... AND ... How-to Secure and Maintain Lasting Happiness, Health, Well-Being and Success...

    That's why I'm always emphasizing the "How To Eliminate 'Roadblocks that Stand Between You and Your Happiness Immediately and Forever" aspect of Huna and complimentary technologies.
    Think about it ...

    ... that's the primary benefit of Huna ... AND the one "Hidden Secret" to "Unlocking" your ability to control your future.*

    So you can easily learn to let go of any unwanted feeling ... including all forms of anger, fear, grief, depression, apathy and emotional pain ... on the spot ... and break-up the thought-form-clusters (and resulting behaviors) that cause the feelings to re-occur.

    The recent "How to get rid of 'black boxes'" technique is just one easy way that will surprise you.
    BUT ... here's the "Big Surprise!" ...
    All emotions are "Good."

    Once you have clarity-of-mind (Uhane), the experience of an emotion is just another piece of information.

    Let me illustrate...

    Fear!
    Scene One:

    You walk into a grocery store and feel a vague sense of fear. This is uni telling you there's something to be afraid of, right. You find the source of the fear and it's over by the checkout lanes. You walk on to the snack isle to pick-up an aerosol can of simulated cheese product. A commotion breaks out at the front of the store... someone was caught shoplifting and pulled out a knife.

    That's an experience of "fear in the present moment." Your unconscious picked-up on danger and gave you a warning.

    Another example would be your wife points a loaded revolver in your face, pulls back the hammer, and says she might pull the trigger.

    That's fear in the present... an appropriate response.

    It's rational.

    Unihipili and Uhane are in agreement.

    Scene Two:

    You're afraid of guns. You're visiting a friend. His wife answers the door with a hammer in one hand and some nails in the other. You walk down to the basement where your friend is cleaning his guns... and you feel fear.

    This is "fear gone wrong."

    Your uni has some thought-form-cluster giving you "fear."

    Here's how you know...

    You didn't feel fear when you saw the hammer. You know more people are killed with hammers than guns every year, and you have no reason to believe she was likely to hurt or kill anyone. You also know your friend is not likely to hurt or kill anybody.

    So if you experience fear at the sight of a gun, you know the source of the "fear" is irrational and not based in the present. The source is either an event from your past, a belief formed in the past, or it is anxiety ... which is fear about the future.

    A more common fear is fear of "public speaking" ... and you can see how it works the same way.

    Either there's a memory ... (e.g. the time you were to give a talk when you stood up and your brain sat down) ... a belief ... (e.g. "I'm not a good speaker.") ... or anxiety about the future (eg. "I'm going to make a fool of myself.")

    In any case ... the unihipili and uhane are in conflict ... because the emotion is NOT in the present moment.

    Huna teaches you to identify the source of emotions. When you find any unwanted feeling coming up, you will no longer be "controlled."

    Free of your "emotional baggage" ... you will feel more confident and relaxed ... even in the very situations you once had to avoid. You will have the clarity-of-mind to say and do what is appropriate and natural in any situation.

    And ... using Huna ... you know how-to-set-up situations ahead of time ... so they will go your way for the benefit of all concerned.

    Huna 101: The Ha Rite ... Kahuna Prayer-Action

    HUNA Ha Rite (Prayer-Action) Format *

    1. Decide exactly what you want.

    2. Obtain the cooperation of the three selves. This requires the complete relaxation of the body, the inner self and the conscious mind, followed by meditation on the High Self to "draw it near to you."

    3. Generate a surplus charge of mana (life force).

    --> For "how-to" ... see Kahuna Breathing.

    "I am now going to generate mana by breathing deeply.
    I am gathering extra mana as I draw in more and more
    oxygen. I ask my inner self to assist me in generating
    and storing this force. My will is being made strong
    and enduring so that I am filled with the
    determination to accomplish the things I desire."

    Take a series of deep breaths.

    "My vitality is building up; my inner self is creating
    mana. Mana is flowing like water into a bowl. Energy
    is being stored in the bowl. I can see the mana rising
    higher and higher in the bowl ... until it overflows."

    Continue breathing until you feel fully charged.

    "I now command my inner self to hold this mana energy,
    until I am ready to send it to the High Self."

    4. Make contact with your High Self.

    "Parental Spirit, who dwells in the realm of Light, I
    call to you. May the perfection of Your level of being
    be reflected to my level of being. I ask that You lead
    and guide me in all that is being done. I
    ask that You take an active part in my life."

    "May Your power create for me the good things, first
    in Your perfected realm and then cause them to appear
    as realities on my physical level."

    5. Make the mental picture (thought-form) of the desired condition.

    "I now make in my mind the mental picture of that
    which I desire. I feel a deep, emotional need for
    this."

    Repeat your request three times with as much emotion as possible:

    "I see myself as already having obtained my request,
    and give thanks for it."

    6. Send the thought-form to your inner self to present telepathically to your High Self:

    "I hold this picture before the mirror of my High Self
    and reflect it down into the depths of my inner self."

    7. Strengthen the thought-form with mana and send it to your High Self.

    "I now send this thought-form picture along a stream
    of mana to You. May this gift of mana empower You to
    work on Your level."

    8. End the prayer with a feeling of faith and confidence:

    "I end my prayer and release it to Your keeping to
    work with as You see fit. I know that it is only a
    matter of time until my request appears as a reality
    on the physical level . . . My prayer has taken
    flight. Let the Light of my High Self shine back to
    me. Let the rain of blessings fall. So Mote it Be."

    OK.

    This is a really nice, simple, step-by-step process that works.

    Now ...

    Even though this is more than 30 years old and we are constantly learning new ways of improving it ... you can easily use this technique to start turning your dreams into reality!

    So "give it a go!"

    They're also known as the frontal eminences, if you have a good anatomy book (actually they're still called that even if your don't, but I didn't come here to tell you that) ... they're the BUMPS on your fore-head directly above your eyes.





    Here's the BASIC Technique ...

    Gently TOUCH the bumps with the pads of your index and middle fingers.

    Touch the right bump with the left hand, and vice versa.

    Hold for FIVE minutes.

    You can DO THIS the next time you feel stressed or confused or anxious or etc ... and notice how those negative emotions kinda just "melt away."

    OK?

    Play with that for awhile before moving on to more advanced techniques.

    Kahuna Power Secrets

    Good question.

    Yes. And that is one of the reasons you should do your Ha Breathing daily.

    In the Kahuna way of thinking, the key is conditioning your body/unihipili to KEEP a sur-charge of mana ready at all times. So, basically, a "normal" charge for you will, with practice, be ten times or more what a "normal" charge is for most people.

    Lanakila used to teach cloud bursting in his "Targeting Your Mana" training. Now, cloud bursting might seem pointless on the surface, but what he was REALLY training you to do was ACCUMULATE mana ... STORE it effectively ... and then DIRECT it any time you
    choose.

    Is it good to be ten times as powerful as the average guy? :-)

    Imagine having a regular surplus "store" of mana you can use at any time.

    So those special times of day when you feel really "connected" you can just imagine sending a flow of mana to your High Self and then feeling the "return flow" known as "the rain of blessings."

    It's also about being always ready in the moment.

    Yes. Yes. One of the Master Keys Max Freedom Long discovered was how adding the THOUGHT of accumulating mana while doing the breathing multiplies the effect geometrically!

    I think this is covered in "Letters on Huna" Lesson 4 or in Max's Mana, or Vital Force.

    I had the folks do a demonstration of WHY-WHAT-HOW at last year's Huna World Convention.

    Test it.

    #1 - Get a baseline for how much mana you have.
    (Energy Test, pendulum, however)

    #2 - Do some deep breathing ... Ha Breathing.

    #3 - Re-test your mana level.

    #4 - Now do your Ha breathing while adding the THOUGHT
    that you are increasing your mana, instructing your
    unihipili that this is what you want it to do. (This
    is covered well in Glover's book)

    #5 - Test how much more mana you have.

    You'll probably also notice how much easier it is when you add thought ... mental instructions, visualization, etc.

    Dr. Joe does a really cool demonstration demonstrating the difference between Ha Breathing and Ha Breathing for Accumulating Mana.

    It never occurred to me Ha Breathing could be used for relaxation ... I'd always used it the other way.

    We are always learning, are we not?

    I like how you've already answered this below.

    Affirmations can actually do more harm than good because of "tag-ends."

    Affirmations don't work for most people because so many necessary steps to guaranteed success are left out.

    But ... affirmations done at Alpha work 300 times better, if that's any help.

    And the Aumakua High Self will create your future from the thoughts you focus on throughout the day when "the connection" is made every night as you sleep.

    So doing affirmations is like throwing spaghetti at the wall and hopping some of it will stick.

    The stuff you thought about all day, or watched on TV, or focused on, or thought about that #*&**&% who cut you off in traffic, etc. ... they all "get there" with as much mana as your "affirmations."

    So, which is better ... "affirmations" ... or "your chosen future?"

    When you decide on "your chosen future" and you make a thought-form out of it, and you make it real, and you mana-gize it, and then you send it to the HS with the intention of making it manifest ... how many thousand time more powerful is THAT?

    Which one WORKS?

    Huna Secrets of Remote Healing

    One top authority (I don't recall if it was Charlie Kenn or Sam Lono or who at this time) told us ...
    "Max HAD ALL THE ANSWERS ...
    ... he just didn't put them all
    in his books."

    When Dad asked the magic question ... "If I did know where those answers are, where would I find them?" ... the answer came back in Max's voice ...

    ... "Go back and read the Bulletins. It's all there." *

    "The Secret Archives"

    Most of you know ... or anyone who has done any SERIOUS RESEARCH on Huna knows ... there are over 3000 pages of research reports Max published and distributed to the HRA's in his lifetime.

    All research, experiments, and discussions appeared in the Bulletins before they anything was published in book form.

    And only a TINY percentage made it into the books.

    BTW ... it was done that way deliberately. :)

    Hmmm ...
    "Why didn't he just

    Well ...

    You can still get ALL THE BULLETINS from HRI, if you want THE WHOLE STORY.

    Now.

    So HERE's a tidbit ...

    Plenty of information was left out simply because of lack of space.

    In the early days, many of the HRA's reported having trouble picturing the healed condition when working on Remote Healing.

    In 1948, shortly after the publication of The Secret Science Behind Miracles, Max revealed his secret technique for getting around the tendency to let the "undesired condition" slip into mind when doing Remote Healing.

    The secret is in visualizing the AKA BODY of the person you are healing.

    Here's the basic outline.

    Remember that you are connected by an aka thread ... so any manipulation you do in your mind affects them telepathically.

    Also remember the Law of Reciprocation ... meaning whatever you "do to them" also affects you ... so be sure to ask for the guidance of BOTH High Selves.

    Relax and go to level.

    1. Start by seeing them in their current condition.

    2. Then imagine their aka body raising out of the physical body.

    You will notice that whatever ills the person may have will show up as contaminations on the aka body ... perhaps as dark spots, red flashes, hard objects, clogs, etc. on the otherwise transparent aka body.

    3. Clean the aka body.

    Now, one of the Master Keys of Huna is the use of PHYSICAL STIMULUS to impress the unihipili ... so it is important to actually REACH OUT AND USE YOUR HANDS as you imagine yourself cleaning and removing any imperfections from the aka body.

    It's also important to remember to use a SURCHARGE of mana in your healing work.

    Keep cleaning until the light blue aka body becomes a deeper blue.

    4. Strengthen the aka body using your surcharge of mana until it takes on a new GLOW of "glassy solidity."

    5. Return it to the body to use ITS STRENGTH to correct the ailing parts of the physical body.

    6. End your session.

    That's the basic process.

    REPEAT the process (either in the same session or in multiple sessions) until the aka body can be pulled out WITHOUT bringing new amounts of the former contaminations ... until it COMES OUT CLEAR.
    ... and keep on learining!

    Yes ... Take them off.

    Practice the drill until it gets "hardwired" into your neurology, THEN you can chose to wear them or not even though you MAY be surprised at what happens.

    Sometimes these things STILL blow me away.

    I was teaching Hakalau to a group, and after the third stage we were doing "the finger test" ...

    Basically the Testor holds up a finger behind, brings it around the side, to the front, and has the Testie says "OK" when they can see it.

    In normal foveal vision (where you're focused on one thing) the finger has to be almost in front of them before they see it.

    In regular peripheral vision, most can see it at about a 45 degree angle or better.

    In Hakalau, almost everyone can see the finger before it's even with the ear ... i.e. BEHIND the 180 degree plane of vision ... PHYSICALLY BEHIND THE EYE.

    As I was demonstrating this, shrieks came from one group.

    They were trying it on someone who is LEGALLY BLIND IN ONE EYE ... i.e. no vision except some color smears, and THAT ONLY in the VERY CENTER of his field of vision. (Some of you know him).

    So, what happened?

    Foveal vision ... pretty much a wash.

    Peripheral vision ... nothing.

    Hakalau ... he was able to SEE the FULL 180 degree open field of vision ... yes ... even on the physically blind side.

    So we said, "Hmmmm ... maybe there's something to this?"

    3. Spread it down.
    4. and back.

    I broke it up into three stages because you want to be able to HOLD the state BEFORE you do the next step.

    But, you can add the rest of stage one I "accidentally" left out ...

    BTW ... "stage one" is Hakalau, so you'll HAVE "already got" the drill after you've done "the rest of the story" ... below. The next stages will move you toward the "what else?" stage.

    While your vision is spread-out like you've already learned to do … and you've ALREADY noticed what you're "picking up" in that state … noticing what feelings you felt ... you have, haven't you?

    So, as you DO THAT, you can (just pretend) imagine what it would feel like if you could "sort of" feel everything in your field of vision?

    And ... as you're in that state … what would it feel like if you could feel all around you ... 360 degrees.

    Huna 101: Programming your "inner self"

    One Simple Secret to "KNOW" when
    Your Inner Self is READY to
    ACCEPT your instructions ...

    It is called the Automatic Finger Signal. It is your way of determining when your subconscious mind is ready to accept your new instructions.

    Relax with your hands resting on your thighs ... palms down. You are very aware of your hands. Feel their weight on your thighs and feel their warmth. Concentrate on this weight. Become as sensitive as possible to a weight difference. Does one hand feel lighter than the other? One hand will feel lighter than the other if you are keenly aware of the slightest difference in sensation.

    As soon as one hand feels lighter, concentrate on the lightness of this hand, in fact on ANY feeling or sensation that comes into that hand. Can you feel the transfer of heat from that hand to your leg? Is the hand particularly sensitive to the texture of your clothing?

    It is important that once a sensation of lightness or warmth or texture is felt, you concentrate on the sensation. Sometimes one feels a tingling sensation. Whatever sensation you feel in the lighter hand, concentrate on THAT sensation.

    Now we are going to focus your concentration even more by centering it on one finger – the index finger.

    This index finger is now extremely light and in it we feel the other sensations – texture, warmth, tingling, whatever the light hand felt.

    Now there is just one more step and then something is going to happen.

    Think of your heavy hand as on one side of an old fashioned scale ... when one side goes down, the other side rises. Your heavy hand is causing the lighter hand to rise. FEEL this inclination to rise in the light hand's index finger. You know that this finger will rise. In fact, you feel it pressing less and less on the leg.

    This concentration will actually produce a nerve impulse movement of the finger ... it will slowly lift from the leg. It may take a few seconds for the finger to lift or it may take a number of minutes ... but it WILL lift.

    This initial movement of the finger is a signal from your unconscious mind that it is READY to receive your instructions.

    PROGRAMMING

    Re1ax in a comfortable chair. Concentrate on the light hand, on the index finger, on its rising.

    Most people get a very definite rise of the index finger on the first try. Some get just a slight or almost imperceptible rise. Everybody gets a better rise the second time. This means greater contact with your unconscious mind.

    The greater the lifting response, the deeper is your relaxed state and the MORE EFFECTIVE your instructions will be.

    Even a SLIGHT movement of the index finger is enough to begin.

    Huna 101: Ha Breathing

    Breath and Breathing:
    Key to the Unlimited
    Power of Huna

    Life is but a series of breaths. Breath is Life. We can live a long time without eating, a couple days without drinking, but life without breath is measured in minutes. Something so essential deserves our attention. Breath is the most important of all the bodily functions, in fact all the other bodily functions depend on breath.

    As much as we are dependent on breath for life, so are we largely dependent on correct, healthy breathing habits for continued vitality and freedom from disease.

    One of the first things we learn in Huna is that by controlling our breathing we can increase energy and vitality. On the other hand, incorrect, careless breathing leads to decreased vitality and opens us up to disease.

    Civilization has changed our manner of breathing. Very few people breath correctly in today's world. The results can be seen in poor posture, contracted chests, stooped shoulders, and the large amount of respiratory disease.

    The foundation of health is a healthy bloodstream. Breathing is the way you fully oxygenate the body and thereby stimulate the electrical process of every cell in the body.

    Breathing also stimulates the flow of the lymph fluid which contains white blood cells. The lymph system is the body's sewage system. Every cell is surrounded by lymph. We have four times as much lymph fluid than blood! The blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the capillaries which diffuse them into the lymph fluid around each cell. The cells take only what they need and excrete toxins. Dead cells and other toxins must be eliminated by the lymph system, and the lymph system is activated by deep breathing!.

    Whereas the blood system has a pump called the heart, the lymph system moves only through deep breathing and muscular movement.

    Not only does physical health depend on correct breathing, our mental power, happiness, self-control, clear-sightedness, morals, and spiritual growth are dependent upon breath. Entire schools of Oriental Philosophy have been founded upon the "Science of Breath."

    In Huna we practice breathing exercises which allow us to gain control of our bodies and our selves, enabling us to send mana to any organ or area of thought (thought-form) to energize it and thereby strengthen ourselves and others. By controlled breathing we can not only cure disease, but also practically do away with fear, worry, and the baser emotions.

    Although breathing is something we do naturally and automatically it is important to examine just how breath functions.


    The Mechanics Of Breathing

    Breathing is accomplished through the elastic movements of the lungs and the activities of the thoracic cavity in which they are contained. The thorax is the portion of the body between the neck and abdomen. The thoracic cavity is occupied mainly by the heart and lungs. It is bound by the spine, the ribs and their cartilage, the breastbone and by the diaphragm below. It is more than simply the chest.

    There are twenty-four ribs, twelve on each side which emerge from the spine. The upper seven pairs are called "true ribs" because they are fastened directly to the breastbone. The lower five pairs are called "floating ribs" because they are not directly attached. The upper two of them are fastened by cartilage to the other ribs and the lower three have free ends.

    In respiration the ribs are moved by muscular layers known as the intercostal muscles. The diaphragm separates the thorax from the abdominal cavity.

    In breathing the muscles expand the lungs so that a vacuum is created so that air rushes in (obeying that well-known law of physics). The whole process depends on the respiratory muscles. Without the muscles the lungs cannot expand.

    So, in essence, the science of breathing relies on the proper control and development of these muscles resulting in the ability to attain the maximum degree of lung expansion and to secure the greatest amount of life-giving properties of air to the system. Proper breathing exercises allow us to efficiently accumulate the maximum amount of mana. This is essential to health and to the practice of Huna.


    Categories Of Breathing

    Upper Breathing. This is the most common method of breathing in Western society. This is also the worst type of breathing and is the source of many of our problems. One breathing this way elevates the ribs, collarbone and shoulders while drawing the abdomen in. The abdomen pulls up and pushes against the diaphragm, raising it.

    In Upper Breathing only the upper part of the chest and lungs are used. This is the smallest area and so only the smallest amount of air enters the lungs. Also, because the diaphragm is being raised, there can be no expansion in that direction. Go back and review the mechanics of breathing. It will become quite obvious that Upper Breathing uses a maximum amount of effort and energy to obtain a minimum amount of benefit.

    Upper breathing wastes energy. People who breath this way (most of our modern culture) are weak and unhealthy. Even athletes who should know better tend to breath this way and suffer because of it. Respiratory diseases and vocal problems can be directly traced to this manner of breathing which strains the delicate organs and results in harsh voices. People who breath this way often resort to mouth breathing which increases their problems.

    Mid Breathing. This method of breathing is similar to Upper Breathing and only slightly better. In Mid Breathing the diaphragm is pushed up and the abdomen drawn in while the chest is raised somewhat and the chest partially expanded. The results are much the same.

    Deep Breathing. This method of breathing is far better than either of the two preceding methods. Deep Breathing is well known among those who recognize the importance of breath in health and meditation. Many systems of breathing have been built around Deep Breathing. Many have benefited and much money has been made on Deep Breathing. It is, however, only a part of proper breathing. Deep Breathing must be understood before we can proceed to Complete Breathing.

    You saw that in Upper and Mid Breathing the diaphragm is raised. The diaphragm is the great partition muscle separating the chest from the abdomen and its contents. At rest the diaphragm is like a dome above the abdomen. When it is used, the diaphragm is lowered to press down on the abdomen and force it out.

    In Deep Breathing the diaphragm is used and the lungs are able to move more freely. This has led some to tout Deep Breathing as the best method as it is definitely superior to the previous methods.

    The problem is that in none of these three methods do the lungs become completely filled with air. Even in Deep Breathing only a portion of the lungs are filled at best. Upper Breathing fills only the upper portion of the lungs. Mid fills only the middle and some of the upper part. Deep Breathing fills only the lower and middle parts.

    It should be evident that a method which fills the entire lung space will be of the greatest value in allowing us to absorb the greatest quantity of oxygen and to generate the most mana. The Complete Breath is the best method known.

    The "Kahuna Breath"

    Complete Breathing. This method of breathing combines all the good points of Upper, Mid, and Deep Breathing while eliminating the objectionable features of each. It brings into play the entire breathing apparatus, every part of the lungs, every air-cell, and every respiratory muscle. The entire respiratory system responds to Complete Breathing and the maximum amount of benefit is derived from the minimum expenditure of energy. The chest cavity expands to its normal limits in all directions and every part of the breathing mechanism performs its natural function.

    In Complete Breathing all the respiratory muscles are completely called into play. The other types of breathing use only a portion of these muscles. This means that the space for the lungs to expand increases and the muscles give support to the organs as needed. The diaphragm is under complete control and is able to function properly.

    In the Complete Breath the lower ribs are pulled slightly downward by the diaphragm while other muscles hold them in place and the intercostal muscles pull them outward. This combined action increases the mid chest cavity to its maximum capacity. The upper ribs are lifted and forced outward by the intercostal muscles, increasing the capacity of the upper chest to its maximum capacity


    The Kahuna "Complete Breathing" Technique

    Complete Breathing should not be forced. This is a return to nature. Native people and infants breath this way naturally and that should be our goal. Once you have learned Complete Breathing it is not necessary to completely fill the lungs with every inhalation. This is an exercise for developing healthy habits and to be used several times a day in a controlled manner. With regular practice this manner of breathing will become a habit.

    (1) Stand or sit erect. Inhale steadily through the nostrils. Fill the lower part of the lungs first by descending the diaphragm and thereby putting pressure on the lower abdominal organs, pushing the front wall of the abdomen forward. Next fill the middle part of the lungs by expanding the chest, pushing out the lower ribs and the breastbone. Finally fill the upper part of the lungs by protruding the upper part of the chest and thereby lifting the chest and the upper seven pairs of ribs. During this final movement the lower abdomen will be brought in slightly. This movement supports the lungs and helps fill the upper part of the lungs.

    This breath is presented as three distinct movements, but the inhalation should be continuous, even, and fluid by expanding the entire chest, from the lowered diaphragm to the highest point of the chest in a uniform movement. Try to achieve an even, rolling action as you practice.

    (2) Hold the breath for a few seconds.

    (3) Exhale slowly through the mouth. As you do so hold the chest firmly in place, draw the abdomen in a little and lift it up slowly as the air leaves. When exhalation is complete you may relax the chest and abdomen. This requires a little practice at first, but it can easily become automatic.

    Practice Complete Breathing in front of a mirror if possible with your hands over your abdomen so that you can feel the all movements.

    Rhythm. Once you have the basic structure of Complete Breathing mastered you can begin rhythmic breathing. Try the Ha breath. Ha means four and it means breath. It is also the sound you should make when exhaling during the mana generating stage of the Ha Rite.

    The four is divided into a ratio of 1:1:2 for the basic Complete Breath. This means you inhale for a count of one, hold the breath for a count of one and then exhale for a count of two. You hold the breath to allow full oxygenation of the blood and to activate the lymph system and you should take twice as long to exhale because that is when you are eliminating toxins.

    It's like Huna people have a reason for doing everything!

    Use your heartbeat to establish a natural rhythm. You may want to start inhaling for a count of four beats, hold for four, and then exhale for eight. As you develop you can raise the number of beats for longer, slower breathing. This takes time. I started with a four count and now average an inhalation time of about thirty seconds, holding for thirty, and exhaling for sixty. Trained Yogis can take several minutes for one breath. Your breathing will improve with increased lung capacity and there's no need to overdo it.

    The Complete Breath is the foundation for all breathing. It should become your natural way of breathing, though as mentioned before you need not take it to the extreme with every breath. You should become comfortable with the Complete Breath, doing it naturally and evenly before proceeding with the following breathing exercises.

    Breathing Exercises

    What follows are some Yoga breathing exercises which when combined with Huna and Complete Breathing with contribute to great health, wealth, wisdom, and happiness.



    The Kahuna "Cleansing Breath"

    This breathing exercise ventilates and cleans the lungs. It stimulates the cells and tones the respiratory organs. You may conclude the other breathing exercises with the Cleansing Breath as it refreshes the entire system. It can be used after speaking or singing to rest the repertory system.

    (1) Inhale a Complete Breath.

    (2) Hold the breath a few seconds.

    (3) Pucker the lips as if your were whistling without swelling the cheeks. Exhale a little air through the small opening with considerable force, stop for a moment (retaining the air), and then exhale a little more. Repeat this exhalation pattern until the air is completely out.

    The Cleansing breath can be used any time you are tired. I use this breath any time I have been around smoke or other air pollutants.

    The Chanting Breath

    This technique can be used by speakers, singers, or anyone to improve their voice. This exercise provides power, control, and clarity. This is to be used only as an exercise and not as a regulate form of breathing.

    (1) Inhale a Complete Breath very slowly and steadily taking as much time as possible for inhalation.

    (2) Hold the breath a few seconds.

    (3) Exhale quickly in one vigorous breath with the mouth wide open. This should be done instantly and your mouth should be wide enough to insert four fingers vertically between the teeth, or as close to this ideal as you can comfortably get.

    (4) Rest the lungs with the Cleansing Breath.


    The Oxygenizing Breath

    This breathing exercise is designed to stimulate the air cells in the lungs. Do not overdo it. You will likely feel dizzy the first few times you do this. If you smoke or have smoked, do this only under supervision because you can pass out from the incredible rush of oxygen which your body is not used to. When I first tried this exercise I was about fourteen, spent hours each day riding (and racing) bicycles, and even I got dizzy the first couple times. Go easy and if you do get dizzy, walk around a little and discontinue the exercise for a while.

    (1) Stand erect with your hands on your chest.

    (2) Inhale a complete breath very gradually and slowly. As you do, gently tap your chest with the finger tips. Move your hands constantly so as to stimulate every inch of the lungs.

    (3) When the lungs are filled, hold the breath and pat the chest with your palms. As you progress you can pat your chest more and more firmly.

    (4) Practice the Cleansing Breath.

    This exercise is very stimulating to the whole body. Many of the air cells in the lungs become inactive over time from incorrect breathing, smoking, etc. This exercise when done regularly can stimulate those cells back into activity over time. It is a very worthwhile exercise.
